Today I had the morning off and decided to take a family friend Ryan out for a morning of fishing. We left early and got plenty of baits and were going to look for tarpon, but changed our minds and went to a near shore wreck. The bait was all over it, but with an outgoing tide I new the bite would be a little off. We managed to get a few gag grouper, jewfish, snook and barracuda. There are some big female snook offshore getting ready to spawn and they were all over it. The one in the picture was 35in and I managed too get broke off a few times by some I couldnt keep out of the wreck. Ryan was having a blast catching mackeral and then feeding them to the barracuda that were hanging next to the boat. He managed one nice one and lost another one at the boat. A nice change of pace from tarpon and snook fishing and some quality fish in a short time.
