Week of Horrible Weather 6/30
Well I have to say I have not fished much since the 22nd. I have had to cancel all but one of my trips due to poor weather. Winds have been out of the southwest, west or northwest making seas rough and waters dirty at times. Ive said it before but the key to Summer fishing is a live well full of healthy baits. I just can not get myself to buy 100 shrimp to catch a bunch of little 10in snapper. That is not what Naples has to offer fishing wise, and its not my style. Snook and tarpon are the Summer targets and if we catch some snapper for dinner its a plus. Thursday the winds are finally forecast to back off and getting out to get bait will finally be easy. I have a few spots available this week, but they wont last long as I have already filled three this morning. Look for snook fishing to be great through the weekend and early next week when the winds switch to the east the tarpon should be ready to play.
