Month of Fishing in Kodiak Island Alaska 7/29

I have just returned to the lower 48 after working for three weeks at Kodiak Island Resort in Larsen Bay. It was a trip of a lifetime for me getting to experience a different style of fishing, and all the abundant wildlife. Deer, kodiak grizzlies and eagles were all within 50 feet of the lodge. The fishing is world class for halibut, salmon and various styles of rockfish, with the yellow eyes being everyones favorite. They are a bright yellow/orange color that are caught in deep water, and attack vertical jigs well. The lodge is first class and is run and owned by a longtime Naples captain Alan Walburn. If Alaska is in your plans I would highly recommend them, Brandon and Joe also two Naples captains put up great catches daily.
I am now back to snook and tarpon fishing and will have some reports up shortly. Look for best fishing to be late afternoon or after dark into the night. Tarpon fishing will be good for fish up to 60lbs at night, and the snook should be on fire. Give me a call to set up your trip 239 404 6255
