Today I had Joe and Mario for a morning of fishing in Naples. We left the dock at 6:20 and headed north on the beach in search of tarpon, a quick stop for threads and we were good to go. Once at the spot we found the tarpon, they were big and all over the place. The only problem was they didn't want to eat. We should of stayed longer than 45mins, but they were ready for action. We headed back south to Naples and started catching a mixed bag of snapper, jacks and snook. I made a short move before the tide spaced and Joe had the hot rod, he managed some nice snook to 13lbs. He hooked a big girl over 20lbs, but she ran through a bunch of rocks and destroyed the line and
made one last power run and broke off.
The forecast is good with plenty of tarpon still around and the snook fishing is good. I have been fishing some late afternoons after the rain and the small tarpon are showing up. They are a blast on light tackle or a fly. It's a great time to get out fishing, so give me a call to reserve your spot 239-404-6255
