Tarpon, Redfish, Snook Sep 17-19

I fished four days last week and three of them were with a group from Idaho. John, Kay, Eric and Tracy were here for a little work and some fishing in Naples. We had great weather and caught some really nice fish. We caught snook, jacks, ladyfish and a nice redfish on day one. We also caught quite a few catfish, which were everywhere I went points, oyster bars docks and the beach. We were dealt some extremely high tides which made the fishing tough in the mangroves with way to much water. We decided to tarpon fish early the second day, I netted mullet at 530am and I picked them up at 630. We were on the spot by 645am and the fish were waiting, John had two fish blow up on his mullet but they missed. Finally at 745 Tracy hooked up to a really nice fish around 105lbs, John said its gonna be an hour. Tracy did a great job with all the jumps and long runs and at 58 minutes she had the big girl boat side for some pics. We then hit the backwaters, snook, ladyfish and jacks rounded out the catch. Kay had the hot catfish rod again, no matter where we went she caught a catfish. Day three started out again tarpon fishing early, the tarpon were not waiting this morning. We saw a few scatterd fish and John had one smash his mullet, but never came back. I netted some bait and we fished the backwaters till 11am. The low water really helped and in a short time we managed to get snook, lots of snapper and John and Tracy both got 10+lb redfish. With the water rising fast we decided tomeet back at the ramp at 4pm. A huge storm kept us at the dock till 5, I went straight to the beach and we caught snook, ladyfish, saw a nice tarpon swim next to the boat in 2ft of water and John caught another big red at 14lbs. It was a nice three days with great people. When I get the pics of the fish I will post them.
