Naples Fishing 11/18/09
Fall is in the air and the both the weather and fishing are great. Ive been pretty busy fishing 3-5 days a week and the fishing has not disappointed. This time of year fish tend to move deeper into the backwaters and hold on deep shorelines and points. The key to a good day is having your livewells packed full of pilchards. Two throws is all its been taking to get hundreds of baits the last week. With cool water and low tides first thing in the morning Ive been targeting bonita just off the beaches first thing. Small spoons, soft plastics, top waters and pilchards are all getting attacked by 10lb bonita. They are the best fighting fish for there size you will ever catch in the Naples. Other mornings Ive went straight into the backwaters and chummed with live pilchards to get the fish going. Trout, jacks, ladyfish, bluefish, grouper and snapper have all been eating the baits. The only fish missing were the snook, once 10am rolled around and the waters warmed I moved in to fish docks. The snook were on fire and 20-30 snook were common this week. They were very aggressive and the big jacks were also mixed in with snook. Thanksgiving week loks to have great weather and Ive got a busy week. If you are looking to fish call or email as I have some spots to fill in over the holiday week.
