Naples Fishing Report 10/28/10

Wow what a great month so far it's been here in Naples. The fishing
has been great both in the backwaters and off the beaches. Tarpon has
been the main target this month with snook and bonita following close
behind. The tarpon have been eating very well in the passes at first
light and late afternoon on live mullet. On days when the water is a
little dirty and rough the mullet come through all day and the tarpon
fishing is great all day, on cleaner calm days the mullet don't come
in so good and the tarpon stay deep. The beaches were a little hit or
miss this week, strong outgoing tides kept the waters dirty and the
bait stayed out in deep water. Tarpon like to stay closer to shore
were the bait is thicker. As the weather cools the tarpon will push
south and we will focus more on snook, redfish and trout in the
backwaters. The bigger fish will be on the inshore wrecks eating live
baits. Kingfish, cobia and bonita will be the targets on these wrecks
with some gag grouper mixed in. Don't hesitate to book your trip this
month as I'm filling up quick, thanksgiving week is when most want to
fish. Call or email me soon 239-404-6255
