Fall Fishing 9/25/12

It's that time of year again where the weather is cooling and the fish are chewing. Water temps have come down on the beaches and with it comes glass minnows. These little guys are the food of choice for tarpon, bonita, kingfish, and sharks. This is a great time of year to get out and catch some big fish on lures.
Recently I have been taking advantage of the great redfish bite in the Naples area. Fishing live pilchards on mangrove points and shorelines has been really good. Most of the redfish are in the 3-5lb range, but we did manage some bigger fish this week. Snook fishing is still good and should only improve until around Thanksgiving. Most of the snook lately have been caught while fishing for redfish. We have caught a few in the 12lb range, but most are 2-5lbs. If you want to get out fishing in October don't wait to call it's gonna be good. Tight lines
