Warm December Fishing 2012
The fish recently seem to be a little confused. The weather this Fall was colder and windier than normal and now it's 80-84 with water temps pushing 75 in the backwaters. Its nice that it's warm, but the normal redfish, trout and pompano have been scattered when they should be bunched up. I've still been using live pilchards and concentrating my efforts on bays closer to passes. Snook fishing has been spectacular on the docks in the bay area. Im catching some really nice fish and the average fish right now is 4-6lbs with some bigger fish to 10lbs being caught and lost.Mixed in are some big jacks, redfish and some nice trout. Out off the beaches the bonita are all over the place, triple tail are still abundant you just have to run farther out with all the pressure they are getting due to nice calm seas.
Overall the fishing is really good, just have to change things up. You can't be afraid to move and try to areas as fish are still moving a lot due to warm weather and abundance of bait. Weather looks to stay warm for a while, I have days open so don't wait. Tight lines
