Naples Fishing Report 3/23/12

This week we have battled some very heavy winds and have managed some good fish in tough conditions. We have been using mainly live pilchards and threads for bait. Snook fishing around the docks early morning and late afternoon has been great. There are also some jacks and redfish in the mix. In the backwaters redfish have been the main targets up against the mangrove shorelines, we managed redfish on every trip except one. The highlight of the week was this nice tarpon caught by Chuck DiFranco while fishing for redfish. It was caught on 10lb braid and a 30lb leader. Till next time tight lines

Naples Fishing Report 3/18/12

I'm going to keep it short as I've been so busy the days are a blur. Bryan Doe one of my young anglers as been putting a hurting on the big sharks the last week. We have caught big lemons, bulls and hammerheads. Tarpon are in select spots waiting to be caught. Snook, redfish, big trout and hungry jacks have all been caught this week. Naples Fishing Report 3/3/12

I have fished every day this week and the fishing was pretty good. The tides the last few days have been very weak, the snook fishing in the backwaters shut down as a result. The snook fishing around the docks and passes was still decent though. Redfish, trout, snapper and big jacks made up for the slow snook bite in the backwaters. We caught nice keeper redfish to 26" on every trip but today. The trout fishing was also pretty good on the afternoon trips when the tides were a little better. Pictured is 6yr old Kevin with a 6lb trout caught yesterday afternoon. We caught trout, big redfish, flounder, snook, jacks, mackeral and ladyfish on a very windy afternoon. This was the biggest trout caught on my boat in years, Naples is not known for big gator trout. I have days available in March so give me a call and let's catch some fish. Tight lines
