Naples Tarpon and Snook 4/10/12

The fishing in Naples has been excellent this week for tarpon and snook. I have been having great success in the mornings and late afternoon. Snook have been on the beaches in great numbers till mid day. I have been catching them on DOA CALs in the stark naked rigged on a weighed swim bait hook. The easiest way to get em is chumming with live pilchards. The biggest snook this week have been close to 25lbs and have all been caught in the shallow backwaters on big live threads. Tarpon fishing was great after the full moon, we hooked fish on every trip but one. They fed all night on the big moon and just didn't want to eat what we had. These fish have been eating the DOA Baitbuster very well in the root beer color. They also ate pinfish, threads and big pilchards. Fishing should stay good throughout the Summer, just remember to fish early and late in the day. Tight lines

Naples Tarpon and Snook 7/4/12

The fishing in Naples prior to tropical storm Debby was excellent and has rebounded quickly since her departure. Snook fishing has been very good both in the mornings and late afternoons. The snook have been mixed in size from little 20" males to big females of 25lbs. I have caught snook over 10lbs every trip this week. The big highlight is tarpon fishing, I have had great success with fish off the beaches and smaller tarpon in the backwaters. Pictured is a fish caught in the backwaters Monday morning on light tackle. July is a great month to fish and I have some days available to get you out fishing. Till next time tight lines
